I just moved out here from Brooklyn New York my name is Lou, I spoke with a gentleman on the phone the owner I imagined his name is Joe not only was I treated with the utmost respect and understanding as a new client a new Barber never been there never got my hair cut in Jersey he took care of me before leaving he came to my chair and reassured me that I was in great hands and sure enough I was I forgot the gentleman that cut my hair Spanish guy 2nd or 3rd chair from the entrance my beloved Hispanic brother I truly appreciate the haircut I received and I will definitely be coming back and definitely be praising and suggestion to anyone that I come across that we get into a haircut conversation this is the place to go Fair Street barbers a number one from your new client Lou from Brooklyn New York move to New Jersey I flew out that morning to Puerto Rico to bury my nephew who suffered an aneurysm and passed away at 38 years old it meant so much to me how I was treated I'm old school and respect is big and that's what I received from an amazing crew

Went to Ferry Street Barber shop today for a beard trim for the first time. I've walked by numerous times as I worked in Newark- but never went insidr. I've been going to the same barber in my town since I was a child, but he no longer trims beards- which is the service I was seeking. I was greeted by Gilmar, who listened carefully (through my wife translating- I don't speak Portuguse or Spanish- that's a me problem and not anything negative against him) and he took his time trimming my beard. A few weeks ago- I made the mistake of going to Super Cuts for a trim and it was mediocre- but Gilmar was fantastic and fixed the neckline I had been unhappy with. He even trimmed behind the ears and back of the neck which made the beard and everything else look clean. This is my first time growing out my beard so I'm thrilled I have a barber who can trim it and shape it perfectly (I've tried myself and let's just say Super Cuts even did better).
Gilmar is a gem, friendly, listens, amd trims the way I asked without pushing back- I hope to make him my permanent beard trimmer (and possible barber- but one step at a time)! I will conclude with the fact that the other barbers there were doing great work with their customers as well. If you need a haircut- visit Gilmar (or any of the barbers) for a quality and super duper affordable haircut or beard trim. I hope someone passes this on to him!

Edit: Been there twice since this last review. The second time I got David who was okay, then Gilmar this time. His haircuts are precise, too!
